OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Kathryn Dunlap has been named deputy superintendent of assessment and accountability at the Oklahoma Department of Education.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister says Dunlap will oversee Oklahoma's testing program and school accountability measures. Her first day on the job is Tuesday.
Dunlap returns to the Department of Education after serving as assistant state superintendent for school improvement in 1995-2003. Since 2003, Dunlap has held leadership and consultant positions in the field of assessment and worked for the U.S. Department of Education in the administration of former President George W. Bush.
Dunlap began her education career as a teacher in Mid-Del Public Schools before holding several district-level administrative positions for Mid-Del and Edmond Public Schools. She has also worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Oklahoma.
