Errors Found on Some Oklahoma Driver Licenses and ID Cards

Department of Public Safety

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahomans who think something's missing from their driver's licenses aren't alone — state officials have noticed, too.

The state Department of Public Safety said Friday that holographic security emblems that should appear on the front of each license or identification card instead appear on the back of some cards, or not at all.

Jeff Hankins, director of driver's license services, says the error was reported in November when Transportation Security Administration personnel screening passengers at Tulsa International Airport found some licenses had no holographs. Since then, errors have been found on licenses in Oklahoma City and Lawton.

Hankins says the errors are due to mistakes at tag agencies that issued the licenses. Licenses with errors should be returned to the agency, and a new one will be issued for free.
