Tulsa City-County Library has launched a program that will allow customers to checkout wireless hotspots. The hotspots will allow users to connect laptops, smartphones, and tablets to the internet.
There are currently only 50 devices available at Martin Regional, Rudisill Regional, Suburban Acres and the Bookmobile. Users will be able to checkout the wireless hotspot for a maximum of thirty days.
Gary Shaffer, Tulsa Library CEO, says the wireless hotspots will help to bridge a digital divide for many residents who need the internet, but can not access it because financial limitations.
The service is open to any Tulsa County resident over the age of 16 and with a valid library card.
