NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Forecasters say much of Oklahoma is at a high risk for wildfires on Monday, particularly in the southwestern part of the state.
A red flag warning is in effect from noon until 6 p.m. Monday for nine counties in southwest Oklahoma. The National Weather Service says the Oklahoma Forestry Services requested the red flag warning for the area on Monday because of gusty winds and low humidity.
Forecasters say any fires that develop will likely spread quickly, and outdoor burning is discouraged.
