OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Mary Fallin has announced the appointment of an Edmond accounting firm executive to an eight-member commission tasked with reviewing state tax credits.
Fallin's office announced Thursday that James Denton will serve on the Incentive Evaluation Commission. Denton is a certified public accountant and is president and CEO of Arledge & Associates.
The incentive commission examines state tax credits, exemptions and deductions to determine if they are worth the lost revenue.
The commission was created by legislation passed in 2014 and reviews each incentive once every four years. Its first meeting is Feb. 25.
The commission reports its findings to the governor and the Legislature by Dec. 15 each year.
The governor's appointee is one of the commission's five voting and three non-voting members.
