Finance Reports Show Bynum Out Raising Bartlett

The primary election in Oklahoma is next Tuesday and the race for Mayor in Tulsa is getting expensive. Campaign Finance reports, released yesterday, show challenger G.T. Bynum leading incumbent Mayor Dewey Bartlett, Jr. in fund raising by $90,000.

Year to date totals show Bynum collecting $450,000. Bartlett, meanwhile, has raised $340,000. That gap grew by $40,000 in the last few weeks.  In figures from April 1st to mid June, Bynum collected $212,000. That compares to Bartlett's $172,000.

There are three other candidates in the race, but they did not submit reports. If no candidate reaches 50% plus 1 in next week's election, the top two candidates will move on to the November general election.
