Saturday Storms Knock Out Power

File photo

The power is coming back on in Tulsa and other parts of Green Country. Thunderstorms, classified as strong, but not severe, swept through the area before day break knocking out power service to many customers of the Public Service Company of Oklahoma.

Shortly after the storm, nearly 6,000 PSO customers were without power in the Tulsa area. By 9 a.m. that number had been whittled down to about 500. Lightning strikes cause most of the problems.

OG&E also reported power problems. But, by 9 a.m. all but 140 customers in the Sapulpa area had power restored.
