Tulsa Honors 'The Outsiders'

KWGS News

Greasers and Socs gather in Tulsa for a fund raiser for 'The Outsiders. The books was written by then Rogers High School student S.E. Hinton. A major motion picture followed a decade later.

The goal is to use the fictional north Tulsa home of the Curtis Brothers as  a museum to the book and movie.

Cast members, from the movie, were in Tulsa over the weekend to help with the effort, including C. Thomas Howell who played the central figure, Ponyboy Curtis.

Tulsa City Councilors renamed the intersection near Independence and North St-Louis as 'Outsiders Way'      and 'Curtis Brothers Lane'.

In true Greaser fashion, the street sign was stolen with in 12 hours.
