The Oklahoma City metropolitan area was rattled by an earthquake early Tuesday morning, but there are no reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.5. It was centered 2.3 miles east of Luther, or about 25 miles east-northeast of Oklahoma City. The USGS says it received reports of people feeling the earthquake throughout the Oklahoma City area and as far south as Norman.
A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck the same area near Luther last week.
Scientists have linked Oklahoma's uptick in earthquakes to the underground disposal of wastewater during oil and gas production.
