A mistrial is declared in the first-degree murder trial of former Tulsa Police officer Shannon Kepler. Kepler stood accused of fatally shooting his estranged daughter’s boy friend, Jeremy Lake.
The jury returned to the courtroom about 2 this morning and told the judge it was deadlocked 11-to-1. We can not confirm which way the jury was leaning.
Kepler was found guilty on a lesser charge of wreck-less handling of a firearm. The jury recommended six months in jail. He will be sentenced next week. The District Attorney could re-file the murder charges.
