Mayor Bynum says that 234 responses were received through a public process to select a conceptual design for Tulsa’s next pedestrian bridge.
The original pedestrian bridge could not be salvaged due to structural deficiencies; therefore, the City initiated a public process in March 2017 to collect bridge designs from the public that could connect Tulsa’s history and future while meeting a $24.5 million budget for a new pedestrian bridge.
Once the submission window closed for bridge submissions, the Bridge Selection Committee narrowed down the bridge designs based on design standards, specifications, overall esthetics and cost analysis.
Four bridge finalists have now emerged as potential concepts for the new Arkansas River Pedestrian Bridge. Beginning today, citizens can visit www.cityoftulsa.org/vision to provide feedback on the bridge finalists. The deadline for public comment is Friday, April 28 at noon.
