Tulsa Newspaper Carrier Shot While Making Deliveries

Tulsa Police are holding a 17-year-old after he allegedly shot a Tulsa World newspaper carrier this morning.

Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley tells KWGS, the victim was in his car, making deliveries at the time of the shooting about 3:30 Friday morning. The victim was in a neighborhood near 61st Street West and South Union. The 17-year-old shot the carrier, as the  victim pulled in front of the house.

Officer Ashley says the teen has told investigators that he thought the newspaper carrier was a burglar. The home had recently been burglarized.

Two other people in the car with the victim were not hurt. The injuries are described as minor.
