Dangerous fire weather conditions are shaping up this morning as strong winds and lower relative humidities move in behind the cold front. Fire spread rates of 200 to 300 ft/min are expected late this morning and afternoon allowing any wildfire to quickly get out of control. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for later this morning and continuing through 6 pm. The front will near Osage County between 5 to 6 am this morning and work tacross eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas from northwest to southeastward through the morning. Northwesterly winds of 30 to 35 mph will be common and portions of northeast Oklahoma...generally along and west of Interstate 44...may see several wind gusts approaching 40 mph just behind the front...gradually dropping off by early to mid afternoon. Dangerous fire weather conditions again on Tuesday with strong northwesterly winds and dry airmass in place. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect Tuesday for much of northeast Oklahoma and far northwest Arkansas.
