TU students hold a mock funeral outside the university’s administrative offices. Students, like Computer Science Freshman Jay Redfern, are upset over the university’s curriculum restructuring.
Redfern was one of the organizers of the protest. He says students want more involvement in university matters.
In announcing the cuts last week, the administration said the cuts were in underutilized programs and would only affect about six-percent of the student body. The cuts would not be effective until all students—currently enrolled--- are given a change to graduate from their discipline.
Redfern feels the cuts are too drastic, especially to the arts. and humanities. Many students wore shirts says “We are the 6%.”
