TPS Closes Schools Through April 3

Tulsa Public Schools is closing all schools in the district through April 3 to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Students will not return to school until at least April 6. A letter to parents said families should anticipate there may be an even longer closure.

District office buildings will close Wednesday and remain closed through April 3. TPS employees will be paid through that date and will be informed by Friday if the closure might go longer.

TPS students and the students of partner schools will be provided "grab and go" meals at sites throughout the city. Meals will be provided on weekdays starting March 23, and distribution locations will be available on the TPS website by 2 p.m. Friday.

If the closure extends beyond April 6, TPS will provide at-home resources and activities for students. Those materials would be posted on the district website with printed copies available at meal distribution sites.

In the event of an extended closure, TPS will share more information about the distribution of resources and activities by March 27.

TPS is updating families on COVID-19 daily through text, email and the district website, tulsaschools.org. You can sign up for text message alerts from TPS by texting “YES” to 67587.
