Oklahoma Nears 250 Reported Cases of COVID-19

NIAID-RML

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported on Thursday 248 cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma.

Two new deaths were reported in Cleveland County, a woman in her 90s and a man in his 60s. The illness has now killed seven Oklahomans and sent 86 to the hospital.

Six additional counties reported their first cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of counties with cases to 33. Oklahoma County continues to lead the state with 73 cases. Tulsa County had 14 new cases reported Thursday, bringing its total to 41.

Cleveland County has the third highest number of cases, 39, but leads the state in deaths with three.

Adults age 65 and older continue to be the most affected age group, with 85 of the state's reported cases. There are 64 reported cases among 50- to 64-year-olds, 52 among 36- to 49-year-olds, 43 among 18- to 35-year-olds, two among 5- to 17-year-olds and two among 0- to 4-year-olds.

Testing supplies are still in short supply, and officials believe there are many more cases of COVID-19 than have been reported.
