On the Next All This Jazz, Newly Released Recordings

Catch the next broadcast of All This Jazz, starting at 9pm on Saturday the 28th, right here on KWGS-FM / Public Radio Tulsa. It'll be three solid hours of can't-miss modern jazz -- all of it introduced, contextualized, and lovingly selected by an actual person (i.e., not by a robot).

Also, in the third and thematic hour of our show, our theme will be Recent Releases. Thus we'll hear newly released jazz albums by the likable likes of Tia Fuller, GoGo Penguin, Dave Douglas and Joe Lovano’s Sound Prints (shown here), Kenny Barron, and others. And elsewhere in our program, we'll dig the music of, among others, bassist Sam Jones, guitarist Julian Lage, saxophonist Teddy Edwards, and pianist Cedar Walton -- along with several tracks by the late-great Bob Dorough, the witty, prolific, and idiosyncratic singer-songwriter and pianist who died earlier this week at 94.

Join us, fellow jazz buffs! Every Saturday night, both online and over the air, we deliver both recent and classic jazz -- across a wide range of styles. Indeed, All This Jazz is delighted by modern (and post-modern!) jazz in its many forms, and we love sharing the same with our listeners.

Finally, please note that ATJ playlist information can be found here, at the bottom of the page...and that we also maintain a Facebook page for our show. Thanks for listening.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
