On this edition of our show, we welcome back Husain Haqqani, who served as Pakistan's ambassador to the United States from 2008 to 2011. He's giving a free-to-the-public address tonight (Thursday the 28th) at 7:30pm in the Lorton Performance Center on the TU campus. Haqqani (who also addressed the Tulsa Committee on Foreign Relations last night) currently serves as Professor of the Practice of International Relations at Boston University; he's also a Senior Fellow and the Director for South and Central Asia at the Hudson Institute. And he's the author of a book called "Pakistan between Mosque and Military" as well as an article (appearing in the latest edition of Foreign Affairs) entitled "Breaking Up Is Not Hard to Do: Why the U.S.-Pakistani Alliance Isn't Worth the Trouble." Haqqani joins us to explain/explicate the relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan, and further, to explore where things might go from here. His address at TU tonight thus carries this title: "Pakistan and the United States: Future of a Reluctant Alliance." (You can learn more about his upcoming public remarks at TU here, and more about his recent appearance at the Tulsa Committee on Foreign Relations at this link.)
