Do New Voting Laws Suppress Fraud? Or Democrats?
More than a dozen states have passed new voting regulations this year. Kris Kobach, the Republican secretary of state in Kansas, says his state's voter ID law will cut down on fraud. But Rolling Stone's Ari Berman, who has covered the laws extensively, says fraud isn't widespread and the laws disproportionately affect certain groups.

Millions of cats suffer and die from feline AIDS every year. Scientists have found a way to prevent infection by injecting cat eggs with monkey genes that block HIV infection. And to help identify cats with the special genes, they added jellyfish genes to the mix.

A Miami neighborhood has been invaded by giant African land snails, 10-inch long creatures that eat everything from garbage to the stucco on the sides of houses. "It's us against the snails," says the local official leading the eradication effort.

The death toll rises to 9 in Friday's plane crash at a Reno, Nevada, air show. The pilot and at least eight other people died when a World War II-era plane crashed into the crowd.
