Tulsa, OK – On today's show, we speak with the masterful English choreographer Ronald Hynd and his wife and teaching assistant Annette Page. The pair are currently in town to help Tulsa Ballet stage the Oklahoma premiere of "The Merry Widow," which will be performed in the Tulsa PAC on September 23rd and 24th at 8pm, along with a 3pm matinee on the 25th. Hynd created the choreography for this great work in 1975 for the Australian Ballet (with music by Franz Lehar), and the legendary Margot Fonteyn danced in the original production. As we learn on today's program, Hynd and Page have gone on to assist ballet companies all over the world in the staging of this work. "The Merry Widow" is a moving, funny, dramatic, and passionate ballet set in Paris in the early 1900s, with lots of love and intrigue. For more information, please visit tulsaballet.org.
