The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Chickasaw Nation Light Horse Police Department and the District 22 Drug Task Force make one of the state’s largest-ever drug busts.
Approximately 6,000 high-quality marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $9 million dollars were seized early this morning when law enforcement raided an operation about 15 miles north of Ada, Oklahoma.
“Two weeks ago, OBN received information about a possible large marijuana growing operation in the area,” said OBN spokesman Mark Woodward. “ After following up on the information, we identified approximately six different patches, each containing several hundred plants within a few hundred feet of each other.”
No arrests have yet been made. Evidence seized from three different camp sites near the patches will be used to identify those responsible for the marijuana growing operation.
No word yet on whether these sites had ties to Mexican drug cartels.
