I-244 Modifications

Any commuters who use westbound I-244 to access US-169: be sure to plan extra travel time.

Starting today, you’ll need to take I-44 instead of I-244 at the eastern split.

“Follow I-44 Westbound for access to 169,” said Kenna Mitchell with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. “If you don’t follow the signs, you’ll end up staying on I-244, you won’t have access to 169, and you’ll have drive through the construction zone before you can loop around to get back to 169.”

She says eastbound I-244 travelers will still have access to 169, but that highway is down to one lane in the Mingo/Memorial corridor, so you should still expect some major delays.
