OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission has approved a pair of grants to help fund airport projects in Woodward and Ponca City.
The commission announced Thursday it has approved a $400,000 capital improvement grant to help rebuild taxiways and taxi lanes at the West Woodward Regional Airport. It also announced an $11,000 grant to help Ponca City Regional Airport pay for its annual flight academy.
The Woodward project involves $44,500 in matching funds from the city. Officials there say deterioration of airport pavements there have caused loose asphalt and concrete that has the potential to damage aircraft.
