Voters in the Putnam City School District will be asked next year to consider a $6 million bond issue that would pay for 10,000 Apple iPads.
The election is set for Feb. 12 for the measure, which would also pay for the installation of projection equipment at Putnam City North and Putnam City West high schools, along with Capps Middle School.
District instructional technologist Charri Stratton says iPads are currently being used in prekindergarten classes through high school. They were first distributed in 2011.
The Oklahoman reports (http://is.gd/Rq29L6) that the first phase of the plan calls for one iPad for every four students. Eventually, the district hopes to have one iPad for every two students.
