Foundation Announces $3.5 Million Gift to OKC Memorial

Wikipedia

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum has received its largest private gift in the institution's history.

The Inasmuch Foundation, founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord, announced plans Thursday for a $3.5 million capital grant to the 9:03 fund.

The 9:03 fund represents one minute after Timothy McVeigh set off explosives at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, killing 168 people. Organizers chose 9:03 to symbolize the bomb's aftermath and the museum's mission to preserve the legacy of those killed in the attack.

The gift will go toward renovations and capital improvements at the memorial.

Gaylord founded Inasmuch Foundation in 1982 to support charitable, scientific and educational causes in Oklahoma.
