The first of nine city of Tulsa town halls on potential projects for the renewal of ‘Fix Our Streets’ brings out residents of District 4. University of Tulsa student Steven Place is one of many who came to lobby for better biking and pedestrian infrastructure.
STEVEN PLACE: "If we invested a lot in bike lanes, we would see a lot more people out on bikes and it would be much safer. There would be fewer accidents. More people would be active and out in the city, rather than in their cars."
An estimated $800-million will be allocated to street maintenance and repair, as well as projects ranging from improvements at the zoo to stormwater management and flood control.
The next meeting will be March 11th at 6pm. It will be held in District 6 at the Martin Regional Library. The library is located at 2601 S. Garnett.
