A showdown is in place for November. Current Mayor Dewey Bartlett, Jr. will face former Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor. Taylor bested a field of five candidates in Tulsa's first ever non-partisan mayoral election. She failed, however, to claim the office outright by claiming 41% of the total vote. She would have needed 50% plus one vote to have won the office without the November election.
Bartlett picked up 32% of the vote, while Bill Christiansen won 26%. The other two candidates had much smaller totals. Under the city charter, Taylor and Bartlett will face each other in November.
Cathy Criswell came close to capturing the Tulsa auditor's office outright, but ended the night with 49% of the vote. She will face incumbent-by appointment Clift Richards.
The Republican candidates for Tulsa County Commission were also on the ballot. Ron Peters, a former state lawmaker and Brandon Perkins were the top two candidates in that four man field. This is for the seat being vacated by Fred Perry. Perry is stepping down for health reasons. There is a democrat is that race. He is John Bomor. That election is set for August..
