More Water Line Problems in Broken Arrow

KWGS News File Photo

Due to a break in a 24-inch water line near the intersection of 9th and Kenosha, the Acting City Manager has declared a water emergency for all residents and business customers. A mandatory water rationing order is in place.

Residents are being asked to use water for essential use only, i.e. cooking and bathing. City pools and splash pads will be closed until further notice and Battle Creek Golf Course will cease watering any nonessential portions of course until the repair is complete.

“We are asking our residents to curb water use for the next several hours to allow City crews to repair the line,” said Acting Director of Communications Norm Stephens. “While water is still being distributed citywide, storage in the water tanks is low.”

City crews have isolated the break and have begun the repair. Estimated repair time is 6-8 hours.
