OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Officials at Oklahoma State are seeking a change in state law to make it easier to expel students for bad behavior.
Whiles suspending a student can be done quickly, the process to expel a student could take months because state law requires
OSU Vice President for student affairs Lee Bird tells The Oklahoman that expulsion requires proof of the student's behavior beyond a reasonable doubt, like that needed for a criminal conviction.
The law is contained in the Oklahoma Administrative Procedures Act that OSU officials would like to see amended.
