File photo

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A 16-month-old girl has died after falling out of a car on a Tulsa freeway and being struck by a vehicle.

Tulsa police officer Leland Ashley says officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of North Tisdale Parkway about 6 p.m. to investigate an auto-pedestrian collision involving a child. Police say the child was not properly secured in a child seat and fell out when the passenger door opened. She was hit by another vehicle and pronounced dead at OSU Medical Center.

Officer Ashley says another child, age 4, was  also in the vehicle.

The name of the child has not been released, and the accident remains under investigation.
