Tulsa Police Crack Down on Speeders in Construction Zones

File Photo

There is a crackdown on speeders in construction zones this month. The Tulsa Police Department Mingo Valley Traffic Unit is concentrating on drivers speeding or committing other moving violations in construction areas. Sergeant Stephan Boyes says in the past year or so, two people have been hit and killed in construction zones in east Tulsa, so they want drivers to be aware and slow down in road work areas.

A citation for speeding issued in a construction zone could cost you up to 500 dollars, and Boyes says NO warnings will be issued.
