Public Help Police Nab a Bank Robber

Sand Springs Police Department

Sand Springs Police make an arrest with the help of the public. Police were in search of a bank robber and only had limited video evidence. Deputy Chief Mike Carter says they identified the suspect's car in a video and distributed it to the media.

"Once we produced that to the media, we started getting tips from the public. One of the tips was very specific of who the person was, and also where they thought we could located the vehicle and the suspect."

He says that tip was followed up by police with a search warrant and found the vehicle and suspect in Tulsa.

"That tip was followed up on, we observed the vehicle there. A search warrant was applied for and the vehicle was located at a residence in Tulsa. Officers, along with the FBI and Tulsa Police Department served a search warrant on that residence."

He says they located evidence and took the suspect in custody. He was arrested for bank robbery.
