OU Willing to Host Second Gubernatorial Debate

OETA

The editorial board of OU’s student newspaper calls for a second gubernatorial debate.

The board says President David Boren agreed the university will sponsor a debate if a nonpartisan group hosts and the candidates agree to one.

Challenger Joe Dorman said he’s in.

"I would prefer to do more. I would like to see debates held around the state, different regions, to allow people the access to attend." Dorman said. "But if we have to hold it to two, I think as a matter of fairness we should do it in both of the communities."

Mary Fallin’s campaign has not responded to the invitation. The candidates debated two weeks ago at OSU.
