Tulsa Public Schools wants community input ahead of reopening the old Mayo School next year.
The east Tulsa school will have kindergarten through eighth grade. TPS spokesman Chris Payne said a forum will discuss how students might be taught.
"There are some different options," Payne said. "We have also recently signed new charter relationships. There's a possibility that maybe we might do something with them. We would just kind of like to throw that out to the public."
Population growth in east Tulsa led TPS to decide to reopen the school for the 2015–2016 academic year. Payne said they want parents and neighbors to attend.
"This is not only reopening, but really nearly doubling the facilities, so there's going to be some construction taking place," Payne said. "Bob LaBass with our bond department will be on hand to kind of talk about those aspects and what we'll be doing to enlarge that facility."
The forum is Oct. 28 at 5:30 p.m. It will be at the school, 2525 S 101st East Ave.
