BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say an Oklahoma man has died after his motorcycle struck a deer on the Muskogee Turnpike near Broken Arrow.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the collision happened Sunday night about 5 miles south of Broken Arrow in Wagoner County. According to a preliminary report, 39-year-old Jason Ashlock of Broken Arrow was driving north on the turnpike when he struck a deer that was on the road.

The highway patrol says Ashlock was thrown from his motorcycle, then struck by another vehicle. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was pronounced dead.
