OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Police say the 81-year-old Democratic nominee in the race for a U.S. House seat in eastern Oklahoma has died following a traffic accident. Fort Gibson Police Department investigators say Earl Everett died Sunday from injuries he suffered in a two-car accident Friday afternoon. Everett was a decided underdog in his race against Republican U.S. Rep. Markwayne Mullin for the 2nd District seat that stretches across eastern Oklahoma from the Kansas state line to the Red River border with Texas.
