Mayor Bartlett is putting the finishing touches on next year's budget proposal. The mayor will go before the city council tomorrow evening to explain his spending plan for the city.
While not letting out any details yet, the mayor says it will be a "no-frills" spending plan. He says the new plans was easier to put together than the current plan. The mayor has expressed concern about drooping sales tax revenue for Tulsa. He fears it is tied to energy industry lay-offs because of low prices. The city's main source of revenue is sales taxes.
Mayor Bartlett will go before the council tomorrow evening at 6p.m. and then meet with reporters following the budget presentation. The council will have two-months to make tweaks in the plan. The new budget becomes effective July 1st.
