Slain Tulsa Restaurant Owner May Have Been Shot, Not Stabbed

KWGS News

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Police in Tulsa say the owner of a small restaurant may have been shot to death, rather than stabbed as initially suspected.

Sergeant Dave Walker says 65-year-old James Coulson was found dead inside Teds Hamburgers on Friday by an employee who called police and said his boss had been stabbed to death. Police initially reported the death as a stabbing.

Walker says that officers and an investigator with the state medical examiner's office now suspect Coulson was likely shot. The body was sent to the medical examiner to determine the exact cause of death.

Walker says whether Coulson was shot or stabbed doesn't affect the investigation or the collection of evidence from the scene.

Walker says investigators have no suspects nor a motive in the case.
