Tulsa Teen Shot, Again by Himself

File photo

TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ A 16-year-old Tulsa teen is in serious condition after police say he shot himself in the leg for the second time in three months.
Officers found the teen suffering from a single gunshot wound to his left leg when they responded to a residence on Sunday. A police spokesman says it wasn't immediately known how the teen got the gun.
Police say the teen was conscious but incoherent. They say officers feared he had severed an artery, so a tourniquet was applied to his leg to stem the bleeding.
The teen was taken to St. John Medical Center in serious condition.
Police say this is the second time the teen has accidentally shot himself in the leg with a handgun.
