TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A jury trial for one of two brothers accused of fatally shooting four women in 2013 has been postponed indefinitely after prosecutors learned of new evidence police hadn't submitted to them.
James Poore was scheduled for trial Monday, but Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler informed a judge of the oversight on Friday.
Kunzweiler says the overlooked evidence includes discs containing jailhouse phone calls and cell phone records gathered in the early stages of the police investigation. Kunzweiler says he believes the records weren't withheld on purpose.
Poore's brother, Cedric Poore, is scheduled for a February trial. Both men have pleaded not guilty.
The brothers are charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of 33-year-old Misty Nunley, 55-year-old Julie Jackson and twins Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor, who were 23.
