NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Forecasters say powerful winds and large hail are possible as a storm system moves across Oklahoma on Thursday.
The National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms are likely between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. in southern and eastern Oklahoma. Forecasters say the storms could carry winds of up to 70 mph and golf-ball-sized hail.
The weather service says isolated tornadoes are possible, too.
Cooler temperatures will follow the storm system as it moves east across the state. A frost advisory is in effect for extreme western Oklahoma and the Panhandle, where temperatures will dip into the 30s in the overnight hours.
