OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Four Republicans and two Democrats are vying for a Tulsa-area state Senate seat vacated by a former Republican senator who pleaded guilty to embezzling money from the nonprofit agency where he worked.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday for primary elections for the District 34 seat that includes portions of Tulsa and Rogers counties.

Running in the GOP primary are Chuck Daugherty of Collinsville, John Feary of Owasso, David McLain of Skiatook, and Mark Williams of Owasso. A fifth Republican — Greg Douglass of Owasso — withdrew from the race.

The Democrats include J.J. Dossett of Sperry and Lisa Franklin of Owasso.

A general election is set for Jan. 12.

The six are vying to replace former state Sen. Rick Brinkley.
