For the first time, in nearly two decades, the Crystal City Shopping Center in Red Fork will get a supermarket. The Homeland store in the center closed in the 1990s. Since then, the area has been without a supermarket.
That all changes tomorrow, Veterans Day. A group of veterans known as Honor Capital will open a Save-A-Lot store in the revitalized shopping center on Historic Route 66.
Honor Capital CEO, Jim Allen says the organization's mission is to provide quality groceries in food desert areas across the country. Save-A-Lot targets low income customers with no-frills shopping.
