Delegation Travels to Big Apple to Save Tulsa Jobs

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin is traveling to New York today with Tulsa leaders in an effort to persuade Williams Cos. to remain in Tulsa.

Dallas-based Energy Transfer Equity hopes to merge with Williams and recently said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that if the merger is approved, most of Williams' operations in Tulsa will be eliminated or moved to Dallas.

Fallin, Mayor Dewey Bartlett Jr. and Chamber President Mike Neal will go to New York Friday to meet with Williams Cos. board Chairman Frank MacInnis.

Fallin said they want MacInnis to know how important it is that Williams stay in Tulsa and will ask what they can do to help keep the company.
