The remains of a woman found south of Muskogee in 1983 have been identified as a woman who went missing in Tulsa in 1981.
The remains were identified through DNA testing as 44-year-old Francine Frost.
Muskogee County District Attorney Orvil Loge says Frost went missing in February 1981. Loge says authorities discovered Frost's remains near Martin in January 1983, and then buried them.
The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office requested that the county exhume the remains for testing last August.
According to Loge, it's possible that Frost died in Muskogee County.
Muskogee County authorities are working with Tulsa police to reopen the investigation into Frost's disappearance.
