About 100 people turned out last night to discuss proposed, new Oklahoma Education Standards. The meeting was held at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in north Tulsa.
State School Superintendent Joy Hofmeister explained the plans and then answered questions from parents, students, educators and retirees. Hofmeister called it a robust meeting. Also taking part was Tulsa School Superintendent Deborah Gist.
Other meetings are planned across the state, including an upcoming meeting in Muskogee. You may review the proposed standards by clicking here.
