Just in time for the holiday weekend, the Grand River Dam Authority lifts the Blue Green Algae Advisory for Grand Lake. The Advisory was issued earlier this month after the toxic algae was found in the Fly Creek area of the lake.
Recent tests, at the GRDA Laboratory at Langley, shows the water quality has improvement enough to lift the warning. Blue Green Algae can cause rashes and breathing issues in humans. The algae looks like pea-green soup on the top of the water.
The GRDA still advises not to swming in stagnate water.
