Leadership Change at Edison High

OETA-File

There is a leadership change at the top of embattled Edison High School. Dixie Speer has been reassigned to the Tulsa Learning Academy. TLA principal Clay Vinyard will take over at Edison. The transition was announced by Tulsa School Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist.

The positions are both describes as “interim”. Speer became a lightning-rod for controversy at Edison after students, staff and parents drew attention to what they called a “degraded learning environment” at the school.

Students at the school walked-out last week to protest the school's isses.
