Considering the weather, they may have used an ice-pick, but ground is broken for a new $55-million distribution center for Whirlpool in Tulsa County.
The facility is being build adjacent to the plant at Highway 75 and 76thStreet North at the Cherokee Industrial Park, east of Turley.
It will mean about 100 new jobs at the plant. The plant already has about 1,600 workers.
