A task force tells the Tulsa School Board north side education inequities could be addressed with a new middle school.
The task force report was presented to the Tulsa School Board last night. It calls for closing the McLain 7thGrade Academy and moving all students to a new middle school. That school would house 6th, 7thand 8thgraders.
It recommended the district use the William Penn Elementary School and the Monroe Demonstration School. The two schools are next door to each other on 48thStreet North, west of Lewis Avenue. The task force suggested the new school could be in operation by August.
